This Week's Topic: Top Ten
Popular Authors I've Never Read
I
don’t read much fiction at all, so it’s no surprise that my list will likely
shock some folks. In all likelihood, you could put any fiction-writer on this
list and I’d have to claim ignorance. But at least I know the names, right?
1. J.
K. Rowling
2. J.R.R.
Tolkien
3. Neil
Gaiman
4. John
Grisham
5. James
Patterson
6. Patricia
Cornwell
7. Dean
Koontz
8. Dan
Brown
9. Mary
Higgins Clark
10. Khaled
Hosseini
(You’ll
notice that Stephen King is not on this list. This is only because I read his
brilliant On Writing many years ago.
The stuff he’s known for? Never read it.)
P.S.
I took these names from a list of the bestselling authors between 2000 and 2009.
Mary Higgins Clark was the author that drew me to reading and loving the genre of suspense. She has a formula that works for her. Patricia Cornwell is great if you enjoy the forensics around a mystery.
ReplyDeleteI've gotten a little hooked on Agatha Christie, so I can see the day when I might start reading some modern mysteries. So much to read!
DeleteJK Rowling is amazing, Harry Potter is one of my favorite series ever!
